E500-P100 Capacitor Discharge Ignition
We are proud to introduce our new Power-CDI with integrated Power Box, designed for Kokusan and Kokusan retro ignition systems.
A Power Box works by dynamically adjusting the ignition timing in relation to engine RPM. At low RPM, the ignition remains relatively advanced to ensure strong throttle response and torque. As RPM increases, the timing is gradually retarded to optimize the combustion process in relation to piston movement and the increased cylinder filling that occurs within the powerband of a tuned 2-stroke engine.
At high RPM, overly advanced ignition can cause resistance, increased temperatures, and loss of power. By delaying the spark, the peak cylinder pressure is shifted to a more efficient point after top dead center, resulting in improved energy utilization, better revving capability, and enhanced overrev performance.
Based on this principle, we have developed four different Power-CDI units with integrated Power Box technology.
Installation is as simple as fitting a standard CDI – no extra wiring, no complications. The Power Box is fully integrated inside the CDI unit.
